Christopher J. "Wilbur" Wilson, age 65, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Parkview Nursing Home in Wellman after declining in health since 2008.

Family will receive friends Monday, March 23, 2015 from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home to celebrate Chris's life. Interment will be private. Memorials have been established for Washington County Hospice, Washington County Hospital Foundation, Parkview Nursing Home of Wellman and the Alzheimer's Association. Chris was born January 17, 1950 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Lester Leroy and Melva Vesta (Bieri) Wilson. He graduated from Washington High School in 1968. Chris was united in marriage to Carol Knutson on June 20, 1970 in Washington.

Chris was a life resident of Washington, Iowa, where he worked for Bob Buffington. He also worked in construction and maintenance at the United Presbyterian Home for 14 years, until his health forced him into retirement in 2008. Chris was an avid sports fan, following the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, Washington Demons and Keota Eagles. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Chris is survived by his wife, Carol Wilson of Washington, Iowa; son, Tony Wilson and wife Jennifer and their daughter, Madelyn of Morrisville, North Carolina; son, Tim Wilson and his children, Hunter and Kendall of Keota, Iowa; one aunt; two uncles; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
