Brian C. Carter, age 58, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa, following a short illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Andrew Zuehlke officiating. Private interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County. Brian was born February 10, 1959, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Raymond E. and Carla (Guther) Carter. He graduated from Washington High School in 1977. Brian attended Kirkwood Community College for two years and graduated from Mt. Mercy College.

Brian lived most of his adult life in Cedar Rapids. He worked at the County Home in Washington, Iowa, and following his graduation from Mt. Mercy he worked as an Admittance Counselor at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by his mother, Carla Carter of Washington, IA; sister, Cathi (Dan) Hill of Washington, IA; one niece; one great-nephew; and one cousin.

Brian was preceded in death by his father in 2013.
