Yvonne C. "Bonnie" Buck, age 88, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Ainsworth, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Washington County Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Oregon Township Cemetery, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Bonnie was born on July 18, 1937, in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Edward James and Evelyn Alvina (Lien) Trautner. She attended school in Burlington, Iowa, and graduated from Burlington High School. Bonnie was united in marriage to Lloyd "Dale" Buck on June 2, 1963.
Bonnie worked as a cashier at Fareway Food Store where she met the love of her life, Dale, who worked across the street. She had previously worked as the Accounts Receivable Manager at Seiferts in Washington, and was a clerk at the Ainsworth Post Office. She belonged to Fortnightly, Sacha Club and the Ainsworth card club. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, gardening and tending to her flowers. Bonnie was known for her wonderful pie baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Dick Putney of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Don Putney of Streamwood, Illinois; son, Steve (Bri) Putney of Marengo, Wisconsin; and daughter, Lori (Dan) Havel of Ainsworth, Iowa; along with 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Corinne Trautner of Burlington, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Marlene Trautner of Hoschton, Georgia.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd "Dale", in 2018; son, Bob (Tammy) Putney; and siblings, Edward (Carolyn) Trautner, Patricia (Robert) Fleming, Roger Trautner, Michael Trautner, and Gerry (Pat) Trautner.
