Bill Wiley, age 87, of Washington, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Keota Health Care Center.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Ben Blanchard officiating. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. William Glenn Wiley was born May 15, 1928 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Charles and Flora May (Fleming) Wiley. He graduated from Washington High School and received his Bachelor's Degree at Monmouth College.
Bill worked for the Corps of Engineers working on locks and dams during his college years. He also worked for Case and farmed and raised cattle. He was a member of The Coffee Club when the group met at Winga's Restaurant. Bill was very knowledgeable about history and loved old tractors. He always drove a pickup that had a stock rack on the back.
Bill is survived by many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
