Beverly Lou "Bev" Mosier, age 70, of Washington died Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Washington County Hospital following a five year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Washington with Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Visitation will begin noon Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial's have been established to the Washington County Hospital Foundation, Washington Community School's Operation Backpack and PAWS and More Animal Shelter. Bev was born October 31, 1940 in West Branch, Iowa the daughter of Irving and Mabel (Goss) Lenz. She attended school in Wyman and graduated from Winfield High School. She received her B.A. degree from Iowa Wesleyan College and her Masters degree from the University of Iowa. Bev was united in marriage to Mark Mosier on August 6, 1971 in Riverside, Iowa. She lived all of her adult life in Washington. She was employed at the Washington Community School District from 1960 to 2004 where she taught 1st grade and was later an Elementary Guidance Counselor.

Bev was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington where she was active in many committees and was a wedding coordinator for many years. She was also a member of T.T.T., Chilcote Questers, and was a life time member of NEA and ISEA. She was an avid quilter, made greeting cards and jewelry and enjoyed spoiling her dog and cat.

Bev is survived by her husband, Mark Mosier of Washington; her mother, Mabel Lenz of Washington; two nephews, Jeff and Todd Seawell; and her brother-in-law, Dr. Alfred Seawell.

She was preceded in death by her father, Irving; sister, Carolyn Seawell and one nephew, Scott Seawell.
