Obituary
Beulah Evelyn (Stewart) Temple, age 97, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction, Iowa, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Elm Grove Cemetery with Pastor Erin Kaye officiating. The graveside service will be live streamed on the Jones & Eden Funeral Home Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the HACAP Food Pantry. Beulah was born August 6, 1923, in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Cloyce C. and Mary M. (Cannon) Stewart. She graduated from Washington High School in 1941 and Iowa State University in 1945. Beulah was united in marriage to Sikke D. Temple on March 24, 1945.
Beulah was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, a Deacon and played in the hand bell choir. She enjoyed family, sewing, knitting, quilting, gardening and volunteering. She received the State of Iowa Volunteer Award in 1993 and the Washington County Mother of the Year in 1985.
She is survived by ten children: son, Bruce Temple and wife Janette of Ainsworth, Iowa; daughter, Mary M. Temple of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Barbara Cozad and husband Dennis of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; son, Tim Temple of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Katie Temple and husband Al Reeve of Runnells, Iowa; daughter, Evelyn Greiner and husband Francis of Keota, Iowa; son, Jeff Temple and wife Shirley of Crawfordsville, Iowa; son, Peter Temple and wife Marty of Defiance, Iowa; son, Warren Temple and wife Sheila of Keota, Iowa; daughter, Dr. Beth Temple and husband John Kirk of Rock Island, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Jo Temple of Des Moines, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Esther Bordwell of Washington, Iowa.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Sikke Temple; one son, Dr. David Temple; sisters, Betty Krueger and Mildred Stewart and infant sister, Mary Stewart; and one brother, Ted Stewart.
