Beulah Mae Embree, age 85, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington.
Visitation will begin 2:00 pm Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. A graveside service and interment will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Richmond, IA, at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 10, 2016. A general memorial has been established. Beulah was born October 14, 1930 in Washington County, Iowa the daughter of Paul and Marie (Greiser) Escher. Beulah attended country school in Washington County and Holy Trinity Catholic School in Richmond.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Beulah worked for the Washington County Mini Bus and in the laundry services at Halcyon House in Washington and Pleasantview in Kalona. She enjoyed word searches, going to craft shows, baking pies for Christmas dinners, cross stitch and embroidery and collecting owl figurines. Beulah loved her family and the time spent with her granddaughter.
She is survived by her two daughters: Brenda Embree of Washington and Lori Kelly and husband Brent of Washington; granddaughter, Abby Stout and husband Trent of Washington; three brothers: Warren Escher and wife Catherine of Washington, Mark Escher and wife Karen of Kalona, and Roger Escher and wife Mary Jo of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Beulah in death were her parents and two sisters, Phyllis and Mary Louise Escher.
