Betty Forinash, age 77, of Haines City, Florida, formerly of West Chester, Iowa, died Sunday November 13th at the Heart of Florida Hospital in Haines City after declining in health.
Memorial services for Betty will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated for the West Chester First Responders or to the West Chester Methodist Church. Betty was born January 12, 1934 in Louisa County, Iowa the daughter of Floyd and Lela (DeVore) Marston. Betty attended school in Washington and graduated from Washington High School. On November 17, 1951 she was united in marriage to Jerry Forinash at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She and her husband lived most of their lives in the West Chester and Keota areas and wintered in Florida for the past fifteen years. They recently became residents of Florida.
Betty was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the family farming operation. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Exporter Elevator in West Chester, Iowa for several years. Betty was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church, the White Way Club, and "Time for Coffee" Coffee Club. She was a member of a bowling league and her team won the state title one year. Betty and her husband were involved with Iowa Tractor Pulls for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. Betty enjoyed being around people and she loved to laugh.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Forinash of Haines City, Florida; son Mike Forinash and wife Connie of West Chester, Iowa; son Pat Forinash and wife Luann of Riverside, Iowa; daughter Jeri McIntire and husband Nick of Hot Springs, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Patty Salladay and husband Jack of Iowa City, Iowa; and sister Marian Allen and husband Mitchell of Searcy, Arkansas.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings.
