Betty M. Eash, age 81, of Coralville formerly of Cedar Rapids and Washington, died Monday, January 24, 2011, at the Windmill Manor in Coralville following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will gather and receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Betty was born March 27, 1929 in Louisa County, Iowa the daughter of Ray and Elsie (Wingler) Steele. She attended school in Louisa County and graduated from Washington High School. On September 22, 1949 she was united in marriage to John Eash. They later divorced. Betty and her family lived in South English before moving to Washington. She worked for Holtons and at Seiferts. She later worked at the Washington Public Library. Following her retirement she moved to Cedar Rapids to be closer to her daughter. She was a resident at Windmill Manor in Coralville for the past nine months. Betty loved to dance, read, knit and crochet. She especially enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Bonnie and husband Don Pospisil of Cedar Rapids; son, Keith Eash of Macomb, Illinois; son, Kevin Eash and wife Kristy of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Steele and wife Marcia of Wayland.
She was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Wilma Beauregard; Edith Nicholson; and Luvena (Kauffman) Caviggia.
