Benjamin "Ben" Turner, age 87, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at his residence under hospice care.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date, with interment at Elm Grove Cemetery. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Ben's family at www.jonesfh.com .

Ben was born June 20, 1937, in Henry County, Iowa, the son of John "Charlie" Turner. On August 28, 1959, Ben was united in marriage to Bertha Roberts in Washington, Iowa.

Ben dedicated many years of service to the City of Washington's Street Department. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly mushroom hunting, fishing, gardening, and golfing.

Ben is survived by his wife, Bertha "Bert" Turner of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Cheri (Fred) Doggett of Washington, Iowa; grandson, Austin Doggett of Fairfax, Iowa; three great-grandchildren: Benjamin Doggett, Addyson Doggett, and Amya Doggett, all of Fairfax, Iowa; brother, Bill (Janice) Turner of Wayland, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Turner; sister, Geneva (Jack) Genkinger; and sister, Mary (Earl) Malloy.
