Rebecca A. "Becky" Ridley, age 73, formerly of Washington, IA passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, after a brief illness in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A luncheon will follow at the Washington Golf and Country Club. Memorials have been established for the Washington Golf and Country Club. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Becky was born April 21, 1949, in Washington, IA to Lowell & Virginia (Moothart) Waters. She graduated from Washington High School in 1967. Becky was married to Gary Scheeler. They had a daughter, Nanette Marie Scheeler. Becky and Gary later divorced.

Becky held a variety of positions over the years with her favorite being customer service at Washington Manufacturing/Fansteel. She was later united in marriage to Jerry Ridley. She later worked at H&R Block and continued helping with taxes for years. Becky also worked at the Washington Golf and Country Club for 20 years.

Becky loved golfing, quilting, sewing, gardening & spending time with loved ones and friends. In 2013, Becky and Jerry moved permanently to Mission, TX. After Jerry's passing in 2016, she continued to reside there and enjoy her retirement.

Becky was very blessed in later life with her new partner, John Zielinski. They enjoyed taking trips together, golfing and spending summers in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

She is survived by her daughter, Nanette Thomas of Cedar Rapids, IA; four grandchildren: Jackee Robinson of Cedar Rapids, Nick Robinson of Cedar Rapids, Lauren Ridley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL & Sondra Thomas of Chesapeake, VA; five great granddaughters: Adrianna, Lilly, Danika, Kendra & Hazel; four stepsons: Randy (Susan) Ridley of Vienna, VA, Scott Ridley of Myersville, MD, Eric (Gloria) Ridley of Bedford, PA and Matt (Michelle) Ridley of Gaithersburg, MD; four sisters: Nancy (Rick) Anderson of Portland, OR, Connie (Tom) Wheelan of Washington, IA, Holly (Charles) Redeau of Portland, OR , and Rhonda (Bub) Goodwin of Washington, IA; brother John Waters of Lancaster, CA; several nieces and nephews; and partner, John Zielinski of Mission, TX.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; husband, Jerry Ridley; sister, Debra Batterson; and brother-in-law, Mark Goodwin.
