Barbara Joyce Redlinger, age 56, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, January 8, 2021, at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

Private family services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Bernie Weir officiating. Services will be livestreamed on the Jones & Eden Facebook page. Calling hours will begin noon Tuesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Barbara Joyce was born September 27, 1964, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of Jack and Joyce (Dodge) McIlroy. She attended school in New York graduating from South Indian River Central High School. Following high school, Barb attended college in Canton, New York.

Barb lived in Houston, Texas, for five years where she worked for E. F. Hutton. She was united in marriage to Mark Redlinger on April 22, 1989. Along with her husband, Barb moved to Washington, Iowa, in 1989. She worked as a Patient Access Coordinator for the Washington County Hospital.

Barb was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Washington, Iowa. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, and caring for her plants. Barb's focus in life was her children and their activities. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by husband, Mark Redlinger of Washington, Iowa; son, Cody Redlinger and wife Morgan of Washington, Iowa; son, Dillon Redlinger of Denver, Colorado; daughter, Grace Redlinger of Denver, Colorado; and son Jack Redlinger of Washington, Iowa. She is also survived by brother, Pat McIlroy and wife Tony of Evans Mills, New York; sister, Sheryl Stinson of Longs, South Carolina; brother, Rob McIlroy and wife Tina of Watertown, New York; brother, Steve McIlroy of Watertown, New York; and sister, Lynn Phelps of Theresa, New York.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Bobby Phelps.
