Barbara Ann Lunning, 81, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018.

Per Barbara's request, there will be no services. General calling hours will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Barbara was born February 12, 1936 in Columbus City, Iowa, the daughter of Clement and Hazel (McBride) Allen. She graduated from Ainsworth High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College before becoming Assistant Dean of Woman at the college. She later worked for Dane Morgan and Associates Architects in Burlington. Barbara was united in marriage to Howard Lunning on March 9, 1986 in Iowa City.

Barbara was a member of Toastmasters and enjoyed living in the country and tending to her flowers. She appreciated the changing seasons and being able to observe unobstructed sunsets.

She is survived by her brother, Kenton Allen of Bettendorf and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death her parents; husband; brother, Mitchell Allen; and sisters, Jean Buser, Marcia Steele and Phyllis Steele.
