Arnold Everette Thompson, age 75, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, August 15, 2019, at his residence in rural Washington, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2019, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Washington, Iowa. Arnold was born June 27, 1944, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Bertha (Klopfenstein) Thompson. He graduated from Washington High School. Arnold was united in marriage to Linda Milam on October 7, 1973, in Washington, Iowa.
Arnold was a lifelong resident of Washington County. He worked at Crane Valves for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed tending to his Purple Martins, working with horses and raising rabbits.
He is survived by his wife Linda Thompson of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Mindy Reschly and husband Chad of Wellman, Iowa; son, Anthony "Tony" Thompson and wife Kari of Washington, Iowa; son, Timothy "Tim" Thompson of Washington, Iowa; six grandchildren: Ivy and Evan Reschly; Kayla, Cheyenne, Joseph and Moses Thompson; twin brother, Alan Thompson and wife Nancy of Wayland, Iowa; sister, Ellen Gross and husband Robert of Arizona and sister, Karma Kronefeld of Davenport, Iowa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joann Harkin; grandson, Canaan Reschly; and brother-in-law, Robert Kronefeld.
