Arlin R. Nall, age 86, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the United Presbyterian Home after a lengthy illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10th at North Hill Cemetery in rural Wayland with services officiated by Jack Bonham. Interment with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29 will take place at the North Hill Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Hospice of Washington County. Arlin R. Nall was born March 5, 1926 in Stilson, Iowa the son of Russell D. and Winnie L. (Thompson) Nall. He graduated from Stilson High School and served in the Navy during World War II. Arlin was united in marriage to Harriet Schantz on October 15, 1986. He was previously married to Carmen Weith.
Arlin had previously resided in Keota and Columbus Junction before moving to Washington in 1984. Arlin and Harriet also lived in Arkansas for eight years. He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad for thirty years working in Keota, Washington, and Columbus Junction
Arlin is survived by his wife, Harriet Nall of Washington, Iowa; daughter Kathy Smith and husband Steve of Bakersfield, California, son Danny Nall of Washington, Iowa, son David Nall of Marengo, Iowa, and son Randy Nall of Washington, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; step-daughter Loretta Bramer of Nashville, Tennessee, step-daughter Lora Daniels of Springdale, Arkansas, step-daughter-in-law Janelle Green of Louisburg, Kansas, and step daughter-in-law Anita Green of Broomfield, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Carmen, son Greg Nall, two brothers; Merle and Keith Nall, as well as three step children; Diana, David and Larry Green.
