Alsandy Phillip, age 65, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

The family will be present at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home to receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023. Celebration of life services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. The family will be leaving the Jones & Eden Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday to process to the Elm Grove Cemetery for graveside services. A general memorial has been established. Alsandy was born January 12, 1958, in Pohnpei, Micronesia, the son of Sangky Phillip and Miko Makaya. He attended school in Pohnpei. Alsandy was united in marriage to Benita Salvador in Pohnpei. They recently celebrated 42 years of marriage.

Alsandy lived most of his life in Pohnpei, Micronesia. He moved to Iowa in 2013 where he worked for Tyson's for several years. Alsandy and Benita moved to Washington in 2020. He enjoyed gardening and being outside.

He is survived by his wife, Benita Salvador of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Claudia Phillip and husband Ramsey David of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Alonzo Phillip and fiancé Francene Inek of Washington, Iowa; son, Timothy Phillip and wife Sulie of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Tracy Phillip and fiancé Joseph Welson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter, Justweetha Phillip and fiancé Roger Gallen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Brian Phillip and fiancé Peuleen Amor of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter, Amy Mino and husband Geralitis of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Mary Phillip and husband Glen Clarence of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Alsandy Phillip Jr. "A.J." of Washington, Iowa; son, Lenberg Phillip of Washington, Iowa; 36 grandchildren; brother, Elsin Phillip of Pohnpei, Micronesia; and sister, Lidia Phillip of Kosrae, Micronesia.
