Alice M. Lord, age 92, of Ainsworth, Iowa died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at her residence following a short illness.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. Alice was born October 11, 1919 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Paul F. and Mary E. (Warner) Mundt. She grew up in Washington, Iowa and graduated from Washington High School. Alice was united in marriage to James Glen Lord on February 1, 1938 in Kahoka, Missouri.

Alice worked at the Telephone Company in Washington and later worked at the Ainsworth Grocery for many years. She was proud to be a homemaker and mother.

She was an active member of the Ainsworth Community Church and the Ainsworth Community Church Women. She was a fifty-year member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Alice was also a member of the County Line Club, the Stop and Go Club, and the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and also enjoyed swimming.

She is survived by her sons George C. Lord and wife Linda of Ainsworth, Iowa; Thomas P. Lord and wife Mary Sue of Lakewood, Colorado; Richard Lord of Ainsworth, Iowa; and daughter Betty Anders and husband Rick of Muscatine, Iowa; seven grandchildren including Joyce Lord; Matthew Lord; Robert Lord; Jodi Long; Jim Lord; Jon Lord and Gregory Anders; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen in 1989, six brothers, and one sister.
