Aletha A. Snider, age 82, of Washington, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Parkview Manor in Wellman.
Celebration of life services will be held 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Gene Carpenter officiating. Visitation will begin noon Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Aletha was born February 20, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Harold E. and Edith R. (Schantz) Snider.
Aletha worked at WCDC in Washington for many years. She attended Lending Hands for the last five years. Aletha was sweet, fun and sassy. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards and loved cats. She was a friend to everyone she met and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Aletha is survived by her sister, Elanore Davisson of Silvis, Illinois; nephew, Jim McDowell of Hampton, Illinois; niece, Nancy Castro of East Moline, Illinois; nephew, Ron (Bonnie) Davisson of Erie, Illinois; and special friend, Leroy Hammond of Winfield, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Duane McDowell.
