Aletha Lorene Glandon, age 90, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at the United Presbyterian Home.

Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Cluney officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery. Aletha was born September 28, 1930 in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Loren S. and Cecile A. (Shrader) Horton. She graduated from Muscatine High School. Aletha was united in marriage to Robert Dale Glandon on March 5, 1950 in Washington, Iowa.

Aletha worked as a bookkeeper for Glandon Sinclair and the Washington Evening Journal and was a part-time clerk for Country Market. She was a member of the First Christian Church and was active in CWF.

She is survived by her son, Terry Glandon and wife Jean of Washington, IA; son, Gary Glandon and wife Nancy of Washington, IA; daughter, Connie Owens and husband Rick of Ainsworth, IA; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2014; grandson, Von Glandon; great-granddaughter, Hannah; and infant brother, Loren Eugene.
