Obituary

Albert "Al" Brock, age 68, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Blanchard officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Al was born April 8, 1948, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Lyle Sr. and Dolores (Tremmel)
Brock. He attended school in Washington graduating from Washington High School in 1966. Al was united in marriage to Ruth Snider on March 4, 1966.

Al lived most of his life in Washington, Iowa. He was a car salesman for many years working for Gephart Chevrolet, Hutmacher Chevrolet, Walker Chevrolet and Buckwalter Motors. Following his retirement he worked security for Rockwell Collins in Coralville, Iowa. Al had previously worked for Montgomery Ward and Wilson Concrete in Washington. Al was a true outdoorsman. He was one of the founding members of Washington County Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid water fowl hunter and fisherman and enjoyed deer hunting and pheasant hunting. Al enjoyed playing golf and won the Club Tournament in 1974 at the Washington Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed playing basketball and racquetball at the Washington Community Y.

Al is survived by his wife, Ruth Brock of Washington, Iowa; son Tim Brock and wife Karla and their children, Mitchell and Jake of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Brandon Brock and wife Angie and their children Nate and Caleb of Marion, Iowa; brother, Lyle Brock Jr. and wife Lisa of Washington, Iowa; brother, Lonnie Brock of Muscatine, Iowa; sister, Jody Adler and husband Dick of Mt. Pleasant; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Brock; sister, Brenda Brock and an infant brother, Ardie Brock.
