Juanita Gould, age 89, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Oregon City, Oregon, following a brief illness. Per her request, no services or burial are planned. Her parents were Harry and Martha (Davidson) Murphy. She was raised by her grandparents, John and Sallie Davidson, in Washington, Iowa, where she graduated from Washington High School in 1945. She then attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines. Juanita was married to George Gould of Conesville, Iowa March 25, 1950. They made their home in Washington where they farmed before moving to Brighton in 1974. In 1986, they moved to Corvallis, Oregon, to be near their daughter and family. Juanita worked as a Nurses' Aide at Washington County Hospital, then in the Washington County Treasurer's office for many years, though her favorite job was that of a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Juanita enjoyed her time with the HEO Neighborhood Club and deeply cherished her Christian faith. She always enjoyed gardening, preserving, cooking, knitting, sewing and lovingly caring for family. Caring for and watching animal life was a favorite pastime. Her joyful, gracious, playful spirit will be greatly missed by her daughter, Deb (Chuck) Longest of Washington; granddaughter, Marci (Jimmy) Fox of Oregon City, Oregon; great grandchildren Gabrielle and Alaric Fox; sister Sally Kaller of Colona, Illinois; sister Bonnie (Lloyd) Burton of Reynolds, Illinois: and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 2010; son-in-law, Gary Franzen; and brothers, Carl and Jack Murphy.
