Jamie Rose Thomann, age 39, of Fairfax, Iowa, formerly of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Friday, February 5, 2021.
Private family services will be held 10:30 am Thursday with Fr. Bill Roush officiating. Services will be live streamed on the Jones & Eden Facebook page. A public celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Calling hours will begin 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Mt. Jamie was born June 5, 1981, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Ross and Jane (Swailes) Thomann. She attended school in Columbus Junction, Iowa, and graduated from high school in 1999. Jamie attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids graduating in 2003.
She worked as a Safety and Compliance Manager for Dakota Red Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She had previously worked in digital design for Read Photography and as a Safety Specialist for Highway Equipment Co. in Cedar Rapids. Jamie enjoyed doing photography work in her spare time. She was active in sports, especially softball, kickball and bicycling. She rode RAGBRAI several times. Fitness, weightlifting, and CrossFit were very important to Jamie. She was very social and her smile would light up any room. Jamie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Despite her busy schedule, her son Grady was always Jamie's top priority.
She is survived by her son Grady Thomann of Fairfax, Iowa; parents, Ross and Jane Thomann of Columbus Junction, Iowa; brother, Jason Thomann of Ainsworth, Iowa; sister, Jenny Humphreys and husband Justin of Columbus Junction, Iowa; six nieces and nephews: Bryce, Madison, Brock and Erika Thomann; and Emma and Claire Humphreys. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jamie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Norma Swailes; and her paternal grandparents, Bernard and Mildred Thomann.
