Dianne Kay Herring, age 78, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Keokuk County Health Center following a sudden illness. Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the First Assembly of God Church in Washington, Iowa, with Pastor Dave Watson officiating. Services will be livestreamed on the church and funeral home facebook pages. Calling hours will begin 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Salem Church Cemetery in rural Washington County. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Dianne’s family through the web at www.jonesfh.com Dianne was born November 30, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Maxine (Blount) Gegenheimer. She attended school in Oxford and later attended the Troy Mills Consolidated Schools. She was united in marriage to Paul Timothy Herring on November 10, 1962, in Center Point, Iowa. Dianne lived most of her life in Washington County where she was a homemaker. She was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Washington and enjoyed cooking and baking. Dianne enjoyed watching Western movies and was a big fan of John Wayne. She is survived by her husband, Paul Herring of Ainsworth, Iowa; son, George Paul Herring and Vickie Decker of Ainsworth, Iowa; son, Larry Joe Herring and wife Mindy of Washington, Iowa; three grandchildren: Amanda, Devon and Joseph Herring; one great grandson, Kace; and two sisters, Jeannine Evilsizer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Georgene Lopata and husband David of Walker, Iowa. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Gary Evilsizer.
