Cecelia “CeAnn” Martin, 83, a resident and ambassador of Wexford Place in Kansas City, MO (Northland, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away peacefully at 2:07 a.m. on June 10, 2020. Celebration of life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Erin Kaye officiating. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. She graduated from West Chester High School and earned her teaching certificate from Iowa Wesleyan University in Mt. Pleasant, IA. She spent her working career as a grade school teacher, director of a Head Start program, and in later years co-owned and operated several daycare businesses. CeAnn lived a full and rewarding life. In recent years she was very active within the Wexford Place community, where she resided for the last three years. She was a member of several organizations, most notably the Red Hat Society and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). In her spare time she enjoyed watching sports, especially college basketball. CeAnn was also a very gifted Bridge player. She married Donald “Duane” Martin on August 11, 1956 in Washington, IA. Duane preceded her in death on November 2, 2016. In addition to Duane, she was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include three children: Jeffrey Duane Martin and wife, Cindy of Topeka, KS, David Scott Martin and wife, Julia of Sedalia, MO and Cindy Michalek and husband, Daniel of Weatherby Lake, MO; two brothers: Dr. Victor Klopfenstein of Marion, IA and Jay Klopfenstein of Carlsbad, CA; six grandchildren: Logan, Brooke, Gabby, Sophie, Zach and Jordan; and two great grandchildren.
