Jayne Dorothy Custer, age 72, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, May 24, 2020, at her residence from complications of diabetes.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with services conducted by Pat Morgan. General calling hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. The family will be present at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home for a drive thru visitation from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Guests are encouraged to enter the building from the north and remain in their vehicles to visit with the family. Interment will take place at Valley Cemetery in rural Washington County. Jayne was born September 19, 1947, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Rosemary (Rolph) Berdo. She attended school in Washington, Iowa, and graduated from Washington High School in 1966. Jayne was united in marriage to Richard Donald Custer on May 29, 1969, in Plano, Illinois.

Following her marriage, Jayne lived in Canada, Ainsworth, and Wayland before moving to Washington in 2016. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing genealogy. Jayne had an extensive collection of Barbie Dolls, owls, and newspaper articles. Jayne faithfully kept in touch with family and friends by sending cards for every holiday and special occasion. Jayne's priority has always been her children, grandkids and her pets.

She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Leasure and husband Arnie; daughter, Christina Miksch and husband Louis; daughter, Amy Custer; son, Andrew Custer and wife Erika all of Washington, Iowa; son, Larry Custer and wife Sue of Kimberling City, Missouri; daughter, Darla Custer of Debary, Florida; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and brother, John Berdo and wife Jan of Washington, Iowa.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2014; son, Steven Custer; and grandson, Tyler Baker.
